Healing Through Art — The Power of Creative Therapy in Schools

Art Therapy was one of the most consistently engaged topics across our communications—and the work behind that engagement was profound.

In classrooms across the city, art therapy sessions became emotional safe havens. Students explored painting, collage, sculpting, journaling, movement, and storytelling as ways to express what they often couldn’t verbalize.

What we witnessed:

  • Students regulating emotions through mindful creation

  • Young people naming feelings for the first time

  • Moments of connection between peers

  • Healing happening quietly, creatively, and gently

The lesson was clear:
Students don’t just need academic instruction—they need space to feel, reflect, and heal. Art therapy continues to be a cornerstone of House of Futures for that exact reason.
